Trouble with the PotD database

Postby Ikkuhyu on Sun Sep 06, 2009 4:58 pm

I'm currently running Gempukku v.3.10b1 and the new Celestial database (incl. PotD)

But when I open my deckbuilder cards can only be entered in the strongholds section
and the builder refuses to execute searches by card type (selecting clan cards works fine)

I have already reinstalled Gempukku, but the problem remains...

I'm not very good at this, so: "Help me, please?"

So, I guess I'll need to make available an old style database for Game and Gempukku, since the new style broke more than I thought. I'll try to get to this, soon, and get you Game/Gempukku users a working database. I'll be reverting back to the previously-used card types, which means no celestials for you - they'll get stuck in with events.

Will let everyone know when I can get it posted, and where.

Try this database for now. <<< LINK >>> .

I'll get a more permanent link up when I can.

Edit: Is anyone actually working with the source code of Gempukku, and able to update the program? If so, contact me, and I'll let you know what all needs to be done to bring Gempukku up to speed with the newest style database. Frankly, I'm surprised anyone was actually still using Gempukku. :)

actually I found a sollution:
edit the database so that all card types are listed as multiples.

I did also change "celestial" into "events" and "strategy" into "actions" just to be safe.

On a sidenote: I changed Bamboo Harvester and Border Keep in to "strongholds" that way they start in play.
(to remove your Bamboo Harvester just drag it into your hand and discard it)

in reply to edit: I play in a select group... a long time ago we figured out how to use gempukku and kinda kept running with it, since this is the first time any of use had to check the forum for support we never even pondered upon the other versions...

How exactly change Border Keep and Bamboo Harversters in to Strongholds? I tried that in here and the cards don't start in play, and could not be (re)moved from the decks. Is necessary any other change beyond the tag in cards.xml "type=holdings" to "type=strongholds"?

Btw, anny ideas how start with 6 (instead of 5) fate cards in hand?
