Hamachi troubles

Postby Faberassha on Thu Oct 15, 2009 5:42 am

For those of you that use Hamachi to play an online client, I have some information:
- DO NOT UPDATE to Hamachi2. It isn't backwards compatible and will not function on all operating systems.
- I was the administrator of the following networks:
> L5R Online
> L5R Online Egg
> L5R Online EU
> L5R Online AP
> L5R Online NA
Because of a systempurge of my PC, I lost control over these networks and they can no longer be emptied to make room for joining players. It is likely these networks will see less and less traffic over a matter of weeks. I cannot delete the networks, but have asked Hamachi support to do so.

- I have created the following new networks, which I have control over and will empty every day to make room for joining players.
> L5R Main (PW: Naga)
> L5R the Game (PW: Naga)
> L5R Egg (PW: Naga)

Thanks for reading and I'll see you on the digital battlefields of Rokugan!

You can find the old version of hamachi here: http://www.oldversion.com/Hamachi.html

Maybe if you install it, you can still manage the networks...

I blogged about this a few weeks ago (http://www.eggofpanku.com/Home/Blog/tabid/278/ctl/ArticleView/mid/660/articleId/5/Hamachi2-Do-Not-Want.aspx).
Seems that Hamachi will be an unusable application in the future. We're working on a fix for Egg, including a game matching server, and it may be usable for The Game as well, although it probably won't deal with running behind a firewall in the beginning.

Sorry to hear about the troubles.
